Happy Halloween Witches! This past Halloweekend I was lucky enough to visit Salem, Massachusetts with two of my BFFs from college. I’ve loved witches, horror movies and scary things ever since I can remember. So a Halloween visit to Salem is one of the best things to ever happen to me. It was a cloudy and windy day which normally isn’t ideal, but in Salem it really set the mood.
Salem is super small so if you’re anywhere near the Northeast, it’s a great place to go for a day trip. There’s a ton of history, cute shops and of course witch culture going on all year. While October is the most popular time to visit Salem, you can really go anytime of the year and still get a scary cool experience. I recommend visiting HausWitch Home + Healing for candles, spells and home decor. I spent more than I would like to admit there on candles and tarot cards. You should also go to Brew Box for a coffee. If you’re there during Halloween, I recommend getting a psychic reading at the psychic fair. It’s basically a room full of psychics and you book one for a half hour to 15 minutes. I had a great reading that really centered me. After my reading, we walked around the graveyard.
Believe it or not, there’s a lot to do in Salem in the non-witch category too. It’s a cute New England town with some of the sweetest boutiques. My favorite so far is Curtsy. Speaking of fashion, I’m wearing a super witchy Jill Stuart Black Lace Retro Sleeve Sheath Dress from Rent the Runway. I paired it with Tahari Corbin Over-The-Knee Boots and Star Power by Spanx High Waist Shaping Tights because those always work magic.
I’m so glad that we’re making this a yearly tradition because that’s what Halloween is all about – friends and witches (who can become your friends too)!
